They're your works. They're your
legacy. The simple objective of Legacyworks, LLC is to see that you
and your family benefit from them as much and for as long as
possible.
You decide how this can be done; utilize our experience and
expertise to take the necessary steps to protect the future of your
works, or purchase "Legacyworks", our exclusive database software
which makes it possible for you to do most of it. With the
Legacyworks software, you enter the data and the software does the
rest. It features the only available termination of grant and
public domain calculators anywhere. Go to "Our Exclusive Music
Database" above to learn more. Or, read on for a description of our
exclusive services.
We work for you, the creator, or your heirs. We will document
as little as one song or pull together a complete detailed record of
your catalog as a reference for generations to come. We are a
complete source to implement the process of terminating and
recapturing your works from wherever they are now.
This is the process. First, we meet with you, discuss your
needs, and review the documents you provide which will expedite our
research, such as single song agreements, exclusive agreements,
co-writer info, co-publishing info, and copyright registration. Even
though you may have been very thorough in your record-keeping, still
much can be missing that was never provided to you. We then turn to
a variety of other sources to complete the research, including
previous and current publishers of the works, the U.S. Copyright
Office, performing rights societies, and other sources. We often
find mistakes during this process and are able to clean them up.
Step by step, the data on your songs is entered into our
unique custom database software. This streamlines the process of
preparing the complete report of your works, as well as, computing
the earliest termination date applicable by law for each song and
preparing the notification letters necessary to achieve termination,
if desired. Termination is your right, but it requires a specific
process which must be followed. The software helps us tie it all
together in a cost-efficient manner. |

With the information compiled in your report, you and
future generations of your heirs will have a reference source to the
facts that are necessary to collect on these works through the
years. Such a list is more than any publisher or administrator
would ever typically provide to you, and perhaps in some cases, more
than they know.
As copyright consultants, our goal is to prepare your
works for a long future. We are not attorneys, but when necessary we
will engage one on your behalf in consultation with you. We also
engage publisher and record label auditors. We are happy to refer
you to publishing administrators to administer your royalties or
license your works, or song pluggers to market your works. We can
even suggest sources of life insurance to offset catalog value for
estate purposes. We are also happy to work with anyone in these
areas who presently represents you.
You should easily recoup the expense of our
services and much more through the opportunities afforded by having
access to your complete information and through the other consultant
services we offer. What we provide is determined by your needs, and our charges are determined by that. Termination and recapture of
your copyrights, auditing, renegotiating better agreements for your
works, and collecting a larger percentage of future earnings are
just some of the opportunities that become available when you have
the facts and control your works. If you do not presently own any
publishing on your songs, you should particularly expect to see a
significant increase in future income for many years. |
